Google Announces “Google My Business”

Yesterday Google announced a new tool for business owners. “Google My Business” is a one-stop suite that “connects you directly with customers, whether they’re looking for you on Search, Maps or Google+”.
Essentially they are looking to clean up the problems most have had with ensuring all localized results are up to date and correct. Multiple listings and incorrect information can have adverse affects.
Aiming to fix these listing items here is what Google My Business can do for business owners:
- Update your business info on Search, Maps and Google+ to make it easy for customers to get in touch
- Add beautiful photos and a virtual tour of your business interior to help customers see what makes your business unique
- Connect directly with your fans and customers by sharing news, events and other important updates from your Google+ page
- Stay on top of reviews from across the web, and respond to Google reviews
- Understand how people find and interact with your business using custom insights and integration with AdWords Express
- Manage your information on-the-go with the Google My Business android app and the iOS app
How does one utilize this new tool? Well all those currently using Google Places for business and Google+ will see the new set up automagically. New users will see these tools and upgrades moving forward.
On the business front, this tool is going to give big insight on Google+ page interaction and AdWords interconnectivity. From the dashboard one can post updates to share with followers as well as pull in custom insight and interactions from Adwords to understand how users are finding them, key feature here SEOers.
I would suggest everyone check this tool out and make sure it’s configured properly. There’s no telling what the roll out may have done to current listings, I cant believe it is perfect but I do believe it will help cut some work hours down. Thanks Google.
