Who’s Viewed Your Profile- How to Be Anonymous on LinkedIn

If you use LinkedIn, then you’ll notice that you get a notification each time someone views your profile. Have you ever stopped yourself from viewing someone else’s profile because you didn’t want them to know you were looking at it? If so, you aren’t alone. This post will tell you how you can anonymously look at someone else’s page.
How to View Profiles on LinkedIn Anonymous
If you weren’t aware, LinkedIn actually includes a privacy setting which allows you to view other profiles anonymously. Here’s how to do it.
- Start at your profile photo. Hover over your profile photo in the upper right-hand corner. Then select privacy and settings.
- Choose “select what others see when you’ve viewed their profile”. This choice will give you different options. LinkIn’s default option sets it so that it shows your name and headline, which is not ideal if you don’t want the person to know you’re stalking them (for networking purposes, of course).
- The “Industry and title” choice. This option tells the user that “someone” from their industry (for example, Digital Firefly Marketing) has viewed their profile.
- The “Totally anonymous” choice. This choice is exactly what it sounds like. It allows you to view other profiles without them having any knowledge of who you are.
Get Stalking! (For Networking Purposes, Of Course!)
Now that you know how to change your LinkedIn settings, feel free to set your privacy settings however you’d like. Happy stalking!
