Social Media Setup

The first step in getting started with social media is to launch your Big 5 social media channels under you company name:
Big 5 Social Media Channels
Known mostly for customer profiles but for companies, businesses and celebrities they have “pages,” which allows each company to have a profile on Facebook. For example you can follow Digital Firefly here, by clicking the “like” button. Once you “like” a brand or company, anything they post shows up in your News Feed.
Lnown as a place for people to network in a professional setting. However, LinkedIn has also expanded and introduced the ability for companies to be followed. This provides news for people in their LinkedIn news feed. Another channel LinkedIn provides is “groups”; which allows people interested in a particular industry to form a group and network their goods and services.
Also known for profiles, but Twitter is a different animal than Facebook. Twitter is a distribution platform like email rather than a water cooler hangout like Facebook. Moreover, Twitter makes it much easier for people to share content in multiple places such as Facebook and LinkedIn. It also can go viral very quickly with people “retweet”ing the links you provide.
YouTube
Got its start as a place people could share their personal videos. However, some very savvy marketers decided to start making YouTube channels that allow brands to create how-to-videos, infomercials, broadcast presentations, or record a news broadcast for distribution to its subscribers.
Has been a rising star in social media. Pinterest consists of pin boards where users pin images and their URLs on things they want to do, cook, wear or otherwise collect. People can follow different boards and re-pin content, so it’s a very easy way to spread a product very qucikly.
