We get this all the time. Companies come to us that want to work with a good SEO company so they rank better in search results. Most of these companies offer some kind of service, technology or application – at least I think they do.

Do they?

So the first thing I always do is look at their current website to understand their business. Some websites are very good – others are, well, they just suck. I hate it when I go to a website home page and I can’t understand what the heck the company does. Nice pictures, cool colors and animation – wow…..what do you do? And then I search out the “About Us” tab only to find the most poorly written statement that talks more about how great you are at what you do other than what you actually do! Don’t you just hate that? Mind you, I’m not dumb, I’ve been in the technology world for over 30 years and we’re in the digital marketing business. Now I find myself digging around other pages trying to reverse engineer the content page to page to frame in my own minds words “what you do”.

The next thing that sucks is that they don’t tell you where they are….Contact Us? Only a form to fill out. Hey where’s your phone number!!! What time zone are you in? You are not contacting them. They are deciding if THEY want to contact YOU! Why don’t they just say that they prefer not to be contacted. And they want SEO to get more people to their website? Why?

Don’t you just hate crappy navigation?

Never mind how I got on this webpage – how do I get off of it and back to that other page? Back arrow, back arrow, back arrow, back arrow – now I’m on my browser home page! Ok – forward arrow……where the heck is the site map! Gee that was fun. Anybody got a sharp fork I can stick in my ear? Don’t you hate it when you need to go to a site map because the native navigation is like playing that old computer game DOOM (sorry showing my age). Yeah, they need to spend money on SEO alright. Um your website sucks!

So I guess it’s now obvious that you need a website upgrade or a whole new website and not SEO. No worries – we can do that for you too! Let’s just agree to let US decide for YOU how to build a website that doesn’t suck! I feel much better now – fork is out of ear.
